 Did you know…?
28% of the metro Atlanta’s population have low literacy skills (including both native and non-native speakers of English).
Adults with low literacy skills are less likely to read to their children. Children who haven’t  developed basic literacy skills when they enter school are 3 to 4 times more likely to drop out.
US business and industry leaders estimate spending  $600 million a year on remedial reading, writing, and math classes  for employees.

The best moments

[Cover]"The best moments in reading are when you come across something — a thought, a feeling, a way of looking at things — that you'd thought special, particular to you. And here it is, set down by someone else, a person you've never met, maybe even someone long dead. And it's as if a hand has come out and taken yours."   -Alan Bennett, The History Boys
