Summer Reading Kickoff


This year's summer reading themes are "Every Hero Has a Story" (children) and "Unmask!" (tween/teens). Here's the line-up for Ocee's kickoff week. Please phone the library at 770.360.8897 with any questions.

Summer Reading Kickoff

Monday, June 8.  2:00 p.m.

Magician Keith Karnok will be presenting "Every Hero Has a Story". The star is Gooney Bird, Vern. Each child will receive a coloring sheet with puppets plus a giant bill with easy magic tricks on the back.

Drawing for Beginners

Wednesdays; June 10, July 8. 2:00 p.m.

Join an experienced art teacher in a creative drawing for beginners class. Ages 5-10. Limit first 15 students.

TAB (Teen Advisory Board)

Thursdays, June 11. 5:00 p.m.

Teens and young adults meet with librarians to discuss library services and programs created and specialized exclusively for them. Refreshments may be provided. Ages 12-18.

Code Kids

Thursdays, June 11, 25; July 9, 23. 6:00 p.m.

Code Kids is an exciting program for middle school and late elementary students. Experienced trainers will guide you through learning programming skills. It is strongly recommended you attend all sessions as the lessons will be dependent on each other.

Atlanta Junior Bridge

Mondays, June 8, 15, 22, 29; July 6, 13, 27; August 3, 10, 17, 24, 31. 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Chess Club

Wednesdays, June 11, July 15. 2:00- 4:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 19.  6:00-7:30 p.m.

Club members will learn strategies, game variations and perhaps have the opportunity to participate in a tournament. Registration not required. Ages 5-13.
