"Dudes" and Macaroni

You've probably known the song "Yankee Doodle" for most of your life. But, what the doodle does it mean? And why pasta?

In 1754, the label “American” carried a number of negative connotations. The song was a jab by the English at the colonists. A variety of verses were penned by both Brits and Americans, however the "Yanks" had the last word.

Happy Independence Day!
