Feline Friends of Libraries

Image result for world cat dayAugust 8 is International Cat Day! Libraries have kept cats for centuries in order to keep rodents from destroying books and documents. Some libraries these days keep them as furry goodwill ambassadors - like Dewey. You'll find Ocee's cats (and dogs) greeting patrons at the front entrance!

Authors have been inspired by cats and have made them some of your favorite characters; the Cheshire Cat, The Cat in the Hat, the Cowardly Lion, Beatrix Potter's and TS Elliott's cats, and Crookshanks from Harry Potter to name a few.
