The much anticipated library finally opened its doors Saturday, October 9th, 2004.

The library is named "Dr. Robert E. Fulton Regional Library at Ocee" in honor of the late District 3 Commissioner and member of the Library Board of Trustees. Commissioner Fulton was instrumental in having this library built and unfortunately did not see his dream realized before his untimely demise.

The design / build team responsible for construction was ADS Architects, Inc. and EDT Constructors, Inc.

Ocee Library opened as a completed 25,000 SQ FT building with the equivalent of 18,000 SQ FT of furnishings and materials. The collection budget is over $3,000,000. The "Opening Day" collection featured over 100,000 books, CD's, DVD's and periodicals. Almost half the materials are Juvenile and Young Adult.
